  • I have been in the RU program with this church for 6 months and have experienced wonderful Christ centered relationships with the participants that are dealing with anything from alcohol addiction to bitterness. They are so very welcoming and it is a quite good program :)

  • Wow! what a place for every type of person and every level of spiritual understanding!

Pastor Scheving has been the pastor of Fargo baptist church for 28+ years, and without a doubt the preaching here is the highlight of the service. It is best to be here in person, and there's no snoozing going on because you'll be looking through your Bible and listening to clearer descriptions and interpretation than you'll get in any other church. It's clear to me that the focus is on making sure each person and family comes away with an understanding of the Bible, and how they can apply it and have a deeper spiritual understanding. And if you come here for long, you'll see that the preaching shows how you can have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Now beyond the preaching there is all kinds of other stuff you can be involved in as well. There is lots of room for fellowship and they have special Sundays every month. You can get involved in the visitation, church bus ministry, nursing home ministry church print shop, the Bible college, church choir, and much more! All of the ministry leaders are outgoing and understanding people who are ready to help you learn as you go!

There is also an area radio station run by Fargo Baptist Church, heaven 88.7. It is also on the internet, and you can also live-stream services on the church's website.

Salvation is preached by faith alone, by grace alone, and the scriptures are the sole authority of faith and practice. Everyone is welcome from any background or religion, and they'll greet you at the door and make you feel welcome.

I went there with my husband and three month old kid and was told at the entrance that we could not get into the sanctuary with a kid and that we could only sit in one of the parent rooms. I understand that kids can interrupt service but at least give us the option to be able to sit in church and congregate with the rest of the church members. It felt very impersonal and we could as well just stay at home and listen to sermons online. We are looking for a church that is welcoming to us and Fargo Baptist was definitely not welcoming to us. We didn't stay for the sermon for this reason. we left and went to the first Assembly of God church which is just down the road and were still able to make the sermon...
